Origami Bird Step By Step

Materials Needed: • A square sheet of origami paper. If you don't have origami paper, you can cut a square from a regular sheet of paper.

1. Starts with a suqre peice of paper, color side up. Fold in half and open. Then fold in half the other way.

2. Turn the paper over to the white side. Fold the paper in half, crese well, and open. Then fold again in the other direction.

3. Using the creases made, bring the top 3 corners down to the bottom corner. Flatten.

4. Fold the top triangular flaps into the center and unfold.

5. Fold top of triangle downwards, crease well and unfold.

6. Open the uppermost flap, bringing it upwards and pressing in the sides inwards at the same time. Flatten down and crease well.

7. Turn the paper over and repeat steps 4-6 on the other side.
8. Fold top flaps into the center.
9. Repeat on other side.
10. fold both "legs" up, crease well, then unfold.
11. Inside reverse fold the "legs" along the creases just made.
12. Inside reverse fold one side to make a head, then fold down the wings.
Your paper crane is now complete! It might take a bit of practice to get it just right, but with patience, you can create beautiful paper cranes. Origami cranes are often associated with Japanese culture and sumbolize peace and good fortune.
